Hearts to Christchurch

The New Zealand flag flies at half mass for the lives lost in the most recent earthquake aftershocks in Christchurch.  Living on the North Island, we are very thankful to be able to report that we are safe, and have been unaffected by the earthquakes that have demolished the Christchurch area.  It’s hard to fathom that we are simply carrying on with our lives up here, when so many people just a short distance away are suffering so greatly.   The destruction and devastation that Christchurch currently finds itself in the midst of is deeply saddening… it’s unfathomable to think that such disaster has literally hit so close to home.  Our hearts go out to those whose loved ones have been lost, injured, or still missing as a result of the quakes.

Current updates on the situation in Christchurch can be found at www.nzherald.co.nz.
