Baby sheep.

A sure sign of spring in NZ are the fresh baby lambs baa-ing from the rolling hillsides of One Tree Hill.  We went a bit late in the season last year, and only caught a glimpse of the “toddler” size lambs, but this year, our timing was much better.  Though it was difficult to tell exactly how old these young sheep were, they were clearly bounding with energy.

Literally bouncing off the hillsides, these fresh baby sheep could be easily confused for rabbits, cats, or dogs. They were surprisingly quick and agile, and made those of older generations seem… rather ancient.

For your enjoyment, here’s a few more shots of the adorable, fresh baby sheep scampering about One Tree Hill this week.
